Honey:  What's new about our honey?

This honey is new because our bees have been feasting on the flowers of our thousands of canteloupe melons. Not all honey tastes the same. The flavor of honey mirrors the blossoms from the fruit that it comes from. Honey reflects the dominant flavor of the plants in the local area that they are raised in. We raise our own bees and these bees have been all over the canteloupe plants. Because of this, our honey is so sweet and flavorful with a very distinct musk melon flavor. It is the best you have ever tasted.

Farm to School aims at getting Oklahoma-grown food on the cafeteria trays of school children. It encourages farmers to sell produce to schools and encourages schools to buy part of their fresh fruit and vegetable needs from Oklahoma farmers along with local healthy farm products. Peach Crest farm will grow produce for the farm to school statewide program.
HB 2655 - The Oklahoma Farm to School Program Act was created by the legislature and signed into law by Governor Brad Henry on June 7, 2006, encouraging Oklahoma schools to purchase products from Oklahoma producers and supports the additional activities of the program.

University of Oklahoma

The first university in Oklahoma to join the farm to school program and is being very progressive in their commitment to incorporate not only local produce but local products into most aspects of the multiple food service options that they provide on campus. They purchase through the statewide program as well as directly from the local producers. Peach Crest Farm is a participant supplying the university with our fresh produce.

OU also unveiled their new healthy fast food restaurant located in the Student Union called the ‘Laughing Tomato’.  The restaurant is a big success and they are serving as much local produce and product as possible and also promoting their values through their signage.
